For those of you heading to Comic-Con 2010 this week:

11:15-12:15 Supernatural Screening and Q&A — Cast members, executive producers Sera Gamble (Eyes) and Ben Edlund (Angel), and creator/executive producer Eric Kripke (Boogeyman) present an exclusive sneak peek at footage from the highly anticipated sixth season of Supernatural, which moves to a new day, Fridays at 9pm ET/PT on The CW this fall. The panel will answer questions from the audience and also show a portion of the special features from the upcoming Supernatural: The Complete Fifth Season DVD and Blu-ray release, in stores September 7. Supernatural is produced by Wonderland Sound and Vision in association with Warner Bros. Television. Ballroom 20.

If anyone is going, this might be our chance to ask Kripke if he saw the Hollywood Reporter ad and find out what he thought about it. If anyone is able to ask a question during the Q&A, let us know what he says!!!

I also meant to add that if you haven't ordered your copy already, you can email the Hollywood Reporter at nthr@omeda.com and request the June 11th copy. They will give you the price for the issue plus shipping and give you payment options. For those overseas that are concerned about the international phone call, this is another option.

"When Jared was told about the full page ad fans raised money to place in the Hollywood Reporter thanking Eric Kripke for this incredible five year ride, he was clearly dumbfounded, and asked to keep the copy so he could show Jensen. We chatted with Jared later about the ad, and how remarkable this fandom is. I think the word we agreed on was unprecedented. Go fandom!"

You hear that, guys? UNPRECEDENTED. \O/

Here is the video clip showing Jared seeing the Thank You Kripke ad for the first time:

Many thank to chaouens and vulpix777!!

Now on YouTube!!

One slight correction to the video. The woman handing over the ad credits WinchesterBros.com with the organization of the ad and although this project took a large number of people to raise the funds, this comm is our home. In the future, if people/blogs/websites repost anything concerning the ad, please include a link back to this comm. Our members did such a great job spreading the word across the internet to so many different social networking sites, it's easy for the source to be lost. It is this community and its dedicated members that deserve the credit for spreading the word, donating for the ad and getting it placed.

So, was anyone able to get their hands on the issue this weekend? I struck out in Madison and northern Illinois. Although it is very BOO!!! that I couldn't find it, I know a lot of you were doing the same thing, as many of the B&Ns I called asked if this was a special edition, because they were getting TONS of phone calls about it. *LOL* Well, done!!! :) If you bought it this weekend, post your story in the comments!!

Also, a little tidbit via cloex_brosluvr from the SPN Rising Con taking place in Spain this past weekend;

"...according to a poster [on the streaming site], someone showed Jared the Kripke ad and thought that it was 'so wow wow, this is so nice' and he wanted to show Jensen who was backstage."

Remember, you can order the issue on Wednesday by calling THR customer service at 1.800.684.1873. It's $8.95 in the US. If folks in the US are interested in buying extra copies to send to fellow SPN fans overseas, drop a comment to this post as well. We'll see if we can't set up some kind of penpal-esqe program. :)

I also made our charity donation today, just to make this the Best Friday Ever. :)

I threw in a couple more bucks to bump up our donation to an even $2100 to the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund.Collapse )

I'm sending a couple of copies of THR to Kripke this weekend, and I'm going to include a note about the charitable donation. The form didn't really allow us to give it in his name, but I think he will appreciate the gesture regardless.

Thanks to everyone for their generosity!! Each and every one of you deserves a pat on the back!!!

And here is where we take over the internet.

"Supernatural" creator Eric Kripke likely had a nice surprise delivered to his doorstep this morning (June 11) in his copy of The Hollywood Reporter.

As Kripke has stepped down from his position as showrunner - ceding the throne to Sera Gamble - a passionate group of "Supernatural" fans raised money to thank him with a full-page ad in the trade mag.

Thanks to tariel22, cloex_brosluvr, and trillian276709 for the heads up. I love this!!! :)
